Why do you use AI to make your covers?
Actually, I use AI to make my scenes. The covers are built using Photoshop and Affinity Photo after the initial scenes, characters, and objects are completed. There is a lot of controversy surrounding AI, but I don’t view artwork generators as “artificial intelligence,” so to speak. I believe they’re software programs that build images using algorithms, not cognizant sinister intellects plotting to take over the world.
What prevents other people from using your AI images in their book covers?
Contrary to popular belief, not all AI images generated are in the public domain. I have the option of keeping my AI program accounts, and my generated images, private. Also, the elements I generate are not the finished product; I use extensive photomanipulation techniques to integrate these elements into a unique finished product.
What makes my cover different than other covers using similar images?
I invest decades of experience and learned skills in blending, manipulating, masking, and merging images, crafting a distinctive and truly one-of-a-kind image.
How long does it take to get my complete cover?
After submitting your cover’s required text, you’ll receive a draft image in 48 hours. This might take longer if you request specific changes to the fonts or layout of the cover as it’s originally created.
I really like one of the covers, but I’d like a different font or text color. Is that possible?
Absolutely! If you have a certain font or style in mind, let me know and I’ll do my best to make it work with your cover.
Can I request a certain font I really like?
Certainly. I have a gigantic library of font options to choose from, so I’m sure I’ll have something you’ll like. I’ll advise you on font choices if I feel something is not working, or doesn’t fit properly. Fonts go in and out of style, and some fonts styles fit certain themes better than others. And there are some Windows fonts that should never be used on book covers because they can destroy the professional appearance of a cover and make buyers scroll right past your book. Generally, very thin fonts should be avoided—you’ll want your name and title to stand out. But in the end, it’s your cover, and it’ll be made your way!
Why are some of your e-book covers and print wrap add-ons priced differently?
I create a variety of covers to fit all budgets, and my pricing structure comes down to invested labor hours. Premium covers are made with larger images that fill the entire back jacket and require more detailed work, and labor hours, to create. Budget covers are made with images that fill the front cover only, and require fewer labor hours to create.
Can you remove elements from the picture?
That depends. Most of my premade covers are offered as-is, but if elements were added during production, then yes, they can be removed or changed. I always keep my photoshop documents in their production state if the need for future editing arises.
Are you available to make custom covers?
Sorry, I am not taking custom orders at this time.
Do you give discounts for multiple purchases, such as series titles?
Occasionally I make a series of three or four matching covers, and those are offered at discounted price for the bundle.
I only need an eBook cover for now. Can I upgrade to a print cover later?
Yes! Choose the Premium Cover Print Wrap Add-On or Budget Cover Print Wrap Add-On from my store whenever you’re ready.
Do I need to have the final page count before you can create my print cover?
Providing a page count is required to finalize your print wrap, because your image file must be sized to fit your exact page count. But your cover is mostly finished when you purchase it on my site, so I can begin the editing process once I have your back cover blurb, author bio, or any information you want included on your back flap.
Can I choose different elements for my back cover copy, if I like parts of style 1 and parts of style 3?
Yes, absolutely. Again, I will advise you on style elements if I feel something is not working, or doesn’t fit properly.
I found an image on a stock photo site that I really want to use. Can you create the layout and typography for me?
In most cases, yes. Choose the Bring Your Own Image option. The image must be a royalty-free licensable stock image, a photo you personally shot yourself, or an AI image you created. Purchase fees may apply for stock images.
I found an image on the internet that I really want to use. Can I download anything from Pinterest?
No, I cannot use photographs or AI generated images created by other artists that are publicly posted. Images must be royalty-free licensable images from a legitimate site, a photo you personally shot yourself, or an AI image you created.
